Working with Local Employers

We are now working with several employers to offer staff the benefits of being a credit union member and having savings taken directly out of their pay.  People find this is a simple, disciplined way to save and it is done at minimum cost to employers.

Participating employers are:

Sheffield City Council

Sheffield Homes

Sheffield Community Transport

Sheffcare

Sheffield Care Trust

Sheffield Futures

 

We are also in discussions with other major employers in the city.

 

If you are an employee (full time or part-time) of one of the above employers and would like to join and save through your pay then fill in the application form and payroll deduction order and send them to our main office.  You will need to provide identification from the list on this link.

 

Why save through my wages?

 

  • It's the easiest way to save regularly.  After a while you don't miss it but it is growing into a useful nest egg.

  • Easy to withdraw money - just send us a Share Withdrawal form.  There are a variety of ways we can get the money to you.

  • It's easy to change the amount you save.  Just send us an updated payroll deduction order.

  • You can save for your children or grandchildren as well.  Young people can have credit union accounts and you can pay into them from your wages.

  • You will have access to low interest loans.  See the loans section

 

If you would like to save through your wages but do not work for one of the companies above please contact us.  Your employer may be willing to work with us to offer you these benefits.

Payroll Champions

We are looking to recruit volunteer payroll champions who work either for Sheffield City Council or Sheffield Homes. The role of a champion is to help enrol new payroll members and to promote regular savings with your local credit union. Full training will be provided all volunteers will be welcome.
